Organic Cycle

Many of the key principles used in 2x2 Training are organic in nature.  We believe that spiritual reproduction was always intended to be natural, organic, and not difficult or programmed.  The majority of the training follows what I call the Organic Cycle of Spiritual Reproduction which is summarized here.

Organic Cycle of Spiritual Reproduction
Phase 1: Saturate the land with prayer
We should ask God to prepare the land where we will be sowing the Gospel. We should ask Him to water, plow, and fertilize the soil before we do anything else. We should pray for the harvest, and for workers of the harvest.

Phase 2: Abundantly sow the Gospel
We will reap what we sow. Therefore we should sow abundantly in order to reap abundantly. We must ensure that we sow Christ in order to reap Christians.

Phase 3: God will bring the fruit
Just as God prepared the soil, God will cause the seed of the Gospel to spring up in a person’s life and will draw that person to Himself. Only God can cause the growth.

Phase 4: Reap the firstfruits of the harvest
The first believers will come and when they do it is a time for a celebration! Firstfruits are to be celebrated and dedicated to God. They must imprint on God, they are not our children, but His.

Phase 5: Gather the harvest, form fellowships
More believers will come if we have followed God’s leading. When they do, we gather them together in small bundles and allow them to form a strong bond.

Phase 6: Prepare some of the harvest for new planting
We should begin preparing for new planting almost as soon as a fellowship is formed. Some of the believers (many times the firstfruits) should be prepared to go out and start the cycle over again.

Phase 7: Repeat the cycle
This time it should be the new believers who start with prayer and follow the cycle. A good pattern to follow is to Model, Assist, Watch, and Liberate. The second time through should be a time of assistance, the third time observation, and the fourth we are in a new location.
